Removed wing struts do to bad powder coat paint. sanded and epoxy painted. While I was at it, I decided to do the wing strut fairing finally. A very noticeable 5mph increase in cruise speed. This is a very worthwhile project.
Was having issue with the propeller hub spacer and its lack of proper drive lugs. This resulted in the aluminum spinner cracking. Put on this beautiful saber spacer and new spinner.
Parked behind its hanger brother. I thank Jeff for letting me use his Kitfox as an example. Many questions were answered by looking at 640JF.
Helped out a little, but also had to install an in line filter from the alternator. Before the 2nd bus the CHT would peg out every time I transmitted on the radio.
First Flight was a great success with a few adjustments needed. New RPM gauge, adjust oil pressure. Then on to next flight.
My hanger mate tests out his custom Kitfox trailer. His Kitfox is equipped with a Lycoming O-290D2, its a real performer.
First taxi tests reveal that the brake lines were plumb to the wrong sides i.e.. left to right and right to left. Scratched the head for awhile figuring out that one. Quick fix and turns out it turns a lot better with the brakes hooked up correctly.
